The Island Farm is a project started by Kathie Iannicelli and supported by the Monhegan Community Church and the Monhegan Associates. ​The Island Farm is a successful local food movement and continues to grow all of their food on island and sells it at their farm stand every Tuesday, at the Monhegan Church, at 11am. All of the food grown by Island Farm is grown with lots of love, no machinery, no chemicals, and no sprays.

This year's farmers are Ronnie Short, Sue Jenkins, and intern Melanie Greatorex.

Monhegan Trucking offers their services and trucks free of charge to the Island Farm.

Island Farm Information

Angela Iannicelli and her family own and run Monhegan Trucking. Angela has been coming to Monhegan as a visitor since she was an infant. She started living on the island year round in June 2004 with her two boys, Dalton and Quinn. In October 2010 she married her best friend, Travis Dow.

Her mother, Kathie Krause Iannicelli, has lived and worked year round on Monhegan since 1993, started the Island Farm (see info below), and makes her famous sea glass wreathes (sold at Winter Works).

In the summer months, Angela and Travis manage two businesses (Monhegan Trucking and Monhegan Lawns) and welcome their sons home from school (Dalton attends RIT in NY and Quinn attends the Putney School in VT). Together they enjoy the beautiful but challenging life of living on Monhegan year round. In their spare time they enjoy hiking on the miles of trails on the island, kayaking around Manana, taking pictures of their cats (Jon and Spy), cooking and baking at home, feeding the birds, and the fine art of backyard chicken keeping.
